The Hatchling

Locked in a dystopian lab, a strange egg stirs. Its temperature, humidity, and nutrients must be maintained with precision. Its integrity is fragile. And you must not fail.

The Overseer watches—cold, unwavering, and silent in its judgment. You are but one of many caretakers before you, each evaluated, each replaced. Failure is not an option.

A Game of Dread and Precision

This low-bit horror simulation demands absolute efficiency:
✔ Regulate temperature, humidity, and nutrients—maintain the egg’s delicate balance.
✔ Acquire and ration lab supplies through the Supply Shaft—resources are limited.
✔ Combat system malfunctions—power surges, failing dispensers, will test you.
✔ Endure the Overseer’s relentless judgment—its criteria are unknown, its patience is not infinite.
✔ Uncover the hidden purpose of the lab—and your own existence.

A Test Hard to Pass

As you carry out your task, something deeper stirs within the facilityThe unseen presence behind the Overseer grows aware of you. A voice—distorted, ancient—seeps into the system. Is it watching through the Overseer? Or has it always been there?

With a relentless, suffocating atmosphereThe Hatchling is a test of your efficiency, endurance, and obedience.

You were built for this. But will you prove yourself worthy?

Really solid take on a horror resource management style. The environment is creepy, the mechanics take a moment to figure out but play into each other well, and it can get pretty hectic. Great demo.
